We are a husband and wife team, Maurice (Mo) and Barbara, based near the Helford River in South West Cornwall. Our business started in July 2010 offering fair trade reed and raffia products through local craft markets, festivals and community events around Cornwall and beyond. By December of that year Mo had introduced his range of handcrafted leather belts, drawing on previous experience as a leather craftsman during the 1970s. The popularity of good quality leather inspired Mo to rediscover the pleasure he experiences when creating bags and his first designs were launched in the spring of 2011. Since that time leatherwork has become Maurice's passion and is now the main focus of our business, with more than 40 styles to his bag portfolio.
The things we value in business are enjoying our work, giving other people pleasure and being fair to our customers, our suppliers and the environment. We have a no quibble policy on changing or refunding goods and guarantee our leatherwork for five years.
Sustainability is important to us and we try whenever we can to source natural, renewable, non polluting products. Our leathers are predominantly full grain hides produced by some of the best tanneries in Spain and Italy, conforming to European Standards for quality and sustainability. We generate our own electricity and use recycled or biodegradable packaging.
We hope to be back trading in Porthleven from June 2021 and will be at the Porthleven Food Festival and Royal Cornwall Show.
